Raymond & Belinda Bishop Litt Scholarship

The Fredericktown High School Alumni Association is pleased to announce the establishment of the fully endowed Raymond and Belinda Bishop Litt Scholarship. This new scholarship, which will be first awarded to a 2027 FHS graduate, was generously funded by Belinda Litt in loving memory of her husband, Raymond Litt, a proud member of the FHS Class of 1979.

Raymond Litt

Raymond was the owner and operator of Raymond Litt Trucking, beginning his career immediately after graduating from Fredericktown High School. Known for his exceptional work ethic, he hauled both cattle and refrigerated products and logged more than five million miles during his forty-one-year driving career. From 1988 to 2002, he also farmed, raising corn and soybeans. Raymond had a huge heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He once told Belinda, “If something should happen to me, I want you to do something nice for Fredericktown.” After his passing, Belinda honored that wish by funding the electronic sign on the Fredericktown village square.

Belinda Bishop Litt

Belinda, a 1974 FHS graduate, earned her degree from Bluffton College in 1978 and began her teaching career at Whetstone School in Mount Gilead. She then served as a middle school intervention specialist at Highland Middle School for the remainder of her 33-year career in education. In addition to her teaching career, she was the bookkeeper for both Raymond Litt Trucking and Raymond Litt Farms.

Community and Faith

Belinda and Raymond were long-time members of Waterford Church of Christ, where Belinda continues to teach Sunday School. She is active in numerous community organizations, including serving as President of the Golden Times Club; a member and Lady Assistant Steward of Wayne Grange #262; President of the Wayne Grange Women’s Auxiliary; Vice President of the Uptown Senior Citizens; and Treasurer of the Fredericktown Forest Cemetery Board of Trustees. In retirement, she enjoys bowling in the Early Risers League at Trio Lanes, playing cards at the senior center, and traveling with Eagle Rock Tours.

Paying It Forward

Belinda shared that she and Raymond always felt blessed by God and wanted to “pay it forward” to the community they loved. Over the years, they have supported several special projects, including funding the refurbishment of the Tomato Show Stage, providing limestone for the Forest Cemetery driveways, and supporting the establishment of the Class of 1974 Scholarship.
